Here’s a glimpse of Doha’s vibrant nightlife—from lively clubs and elegant lounges, traditional souqs and serene waterfronts. to late-night eateries where you can enjoy the vibrant Qatar nightlife.
Club, Lounge and Bar
- Doha’s nightlife scene is centered around hotel-based clubs and lounges, where alcohol is served under strict licensing regulations.
These are the most enticing places for a drink in the Qatari capital, whether you want sky-high views or a cosy, wood-panelled piano bar.
Tips & Etiquette:
- Keep IDs all the time: If you are planning to visit a nightclub or a bar in Doha, you should always carry and show your I.D or your passport whenever required. The minimum age is 21 years old to enter any bar or club.
- Going Around: It is better to avoid taxis as they are super expensive. You can opt for Uber, which is cheaper.
- Prices of Clubbing: If you are looking forward to partying in Doha, it will cost you a lot since a sin tax has been applied on all alcoholic products, which is +100% tax. At a lot of venues, you must take a membership. The fee could be up to QR 200. And the beer could be up to QR 50. If you book a table, you have to additionally spend another QR 1000 – 1500.
- Clubbing as a Woman: Local women are not allowed to party, so you will find more men in every bar. But there are also some generous ladies’ nights too. At some places, you can get free drinks before 12 AM.
- Dress Code: It is recommended to wear closed shoes, a shirt, and pants.
During Ramadan and religious holidays, all bars are closed, and you cannot buy alcohol from anywhere.
Respect local customs—public intoxication is not tolerated. Alcohol only in licensed venues.
Even with its strict laws, Doha has a lot to offer, especially if you are planning on exploring it at night. You can have an experience that you will always cherish in this Qatari Capital.
Sky View, La Cigale Hotel

Fifteen floors up is a wide outdoor terrace offering, as the name suggests, sweeping views across the city and out to the skyscraper cluster of West Bay. A resident DJ gets the crowd going as the sun sinks into the horizon, and the eclectic cocktail list reflects the venue’s proximity to the sky, with drinks such as Fly Me to the Moon (with vodka, brandy and pineapple purée) and Among the Stars (vodka, sage, fresh lemon and grapefruit juice). You can also order elevated bar snacks, from sushi to sliders. Set within an elegant, centrally located hotel, it’s a popular spot for both a local and expat crowd.
Trader Vic’s Lounge, Hilton Doha
Known as “the home of the original Mai Tai”, the Trader Vic brand provides a fun, laid-back Tiki bar vibe. The one at the Hilton Doha, in West Bay, is no different; the interior is a somewhat modern interpretation of a Tahitian village — think bamboo, rattan and Seventies fabrics — with an extensive à la carte menu of Asian-Polynesian dishes (they stop short of offering a suckling pig but you will find things like teriyaki beef and tuna poke). An energetic live Cuban band livens things up at night, so order one of those signature concoctions — made with lime, orgeat, orange curaçao and aged rum —grab an outdoor seat and watch the sun go down while dreaming of spice islands.
The Den, JW Marriott Marquis City Centre

Tucked away in one of Doha’s most luxurious hotels, the Den is a cosy, wood-panelled piano bar with a speakeasy vibe. Decor is dark and intimate with antique lamps offering a low, flattering light. Perch on a stool up at the counter or sink into one of the comfortable leather chairs and enjoy anything from a carefully crafted cocktail (try Peony in Love, made with silver needle tea, wildflower cordial, riesling and cabernet sauvignon) or a classic old fashioned or negroni. There’s live entertainment in the evenings and a pool table for friendly games; you can order food, too, from a cheese and charcuterie plate to more substantial tacos or a steak sandwich.
Irish Harp, Sheraton Grand Doha Resort and Convention Hotel
Live sports and Irish pubs go together like Guinness and Gaelic football, and this “taste of Dublin in Doha” is the longest-standing Emerald Isle-themed spot in the city. Boasting 12 large screens, it’s where to come on match day, when you’ll want to sink a pint (or three) and soak it all up with traditional classics such as Irish stew and Irish cider-battered fish and chips, as well as other hearty dishes from burgers to hotdogs.
The Secret Garden, Marsa Malaz Kempinski

This lush and leafy rooftop bar gives hidden oasis vibes, tucked away on the hotel’s sixth floor with panoramic views over the waterfront of the Pearl — the artificial island it’s located on — and the glittering Doha skyline. Enjoy serene sunset sips, then get ready as the music ramps up after dark; certain nights feature a DJ. You can also come here for one of Doha’s popular Friday brunches, where a set price gets you access to an extensive and decadent selection of delicious food and drink.
Wahm Lounge, W Doha Hotel and Residences
Many bars and hotels in Doha offer shisha, where you smoke flavoured tobacco through a waterpipe also known as a hookah. It originated in the Middle East, so watching others partake, or even trying it yourself (note, it can be very strong) evokes the local atmosphere. It’s available at Wahm, a stylish, contemporary indoor-outdoor lounge located by the W hotel’s pool, where you can also choose from a range of handcrafted cocktails and small but tasty bar snacks.
El Cedro Lounge, Sharq Village and Spa

Imbued with a heavy dose of Latin American flair, this sophisticated bar serves a range of crafted cocktails, and a menu scattered with flavours from the region, such as ceviches, empanadas, tacos and homemade guacamole, mixed tableside. It’s soundtracked by sultry salsa music and you can choose whether to sit in the intimate indoor space or on the outdoor terrace, whose wooden deck and elegant, white wicker loungers wouldn’t look out of place in Havana.
Black Orchid, Mondrian

Queues start forming in the hotel lobby with an hour to go, waiting for the doors to the secret tunnel leading to one of Doha’s most sceney nightclubs to open. Black Orchid is a louche, mirrored, red-lit den of dance, boasting two bars and table service. Music veers between the likes of hip-hop and R’n’B, and it’s the place to come when you want to let a little more loose than just a casual night in the pub.
Monkey Tale, Grand Hyatt Doha Hotel & Villas
If you prefer to partake of your drinks poolside, this ritzy, highly Instagrammable all-day beach club is the perfect place to hang out. Recline on a well-upholstered wooden daybed or within a cabana draped with white curtains, and beckon one of a fleet of waiters over to bring you anything from an Aperol spritz to a glass of Whispering Angel. By day, you’ve got a stretch of beach to enjoy, while in the evening you can move onto one of the pristine cream sofas for more drinks in the open-air pavilion to the sound of in-house and guest DJs.
