BUDGET-FRIENDLY
Turkey Central
- Turkey Central, run by the fabulous Kizilkaya family since 1988, is an institution when it comes to excellent-quality Turkish food at an extremely reasonable price.
- Their servings are generous as well, so I am including their delectable mixed grill for QR30 in this piece as it’s definitely enough for two children. The food is even better if you add a delicious serving of hummus or tabbouli at QR9 each (served with piping hot sesame bread).
Afghan Brothers
- Another gem of a place to eat is Afghan Brothers/Afghan House. Their grilled chicken at QR25 is perfectly chargrilled and generously served on a bed of buhkari rice, along with a side salad and tasty broth.
- The restaurant is also well-known for their chicken mandy and their “chicken machine,” pronounced “makeena,” which are each QR20.
Tea Time
- There are several branches of Teatime around Doha all serving some of the cheapest food in Doha. Not always the healthiest menu but their popcorn chicken and sandwiches which can start at 3QAR make a very budget friendly meal in Doha.
